Cornwall’s The Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey, is launching a new programme, ‘Homecoming Presents’, that will welcome authors, musicians, poets, horticulturalists, chefs, and artists to Cornwall this Autumn for inspiring evenings and important conversations.
The first event takes place on 17 September with Merlin Hanbury-Tenison, founder of The Thousand Year Trust, who will talk about his work to restore ancient and beautiful temperate rainforest wilderness to Cornwall.
On Wednesday 15 October, Heligan hosts a conversation with farmer-turned-ecologist and author Derek Gow who will explain the realities of rewilding. Rounding up the programme, on Wednesday 29 October, author Tim Hannigan will read from his book ‘The Granite Kingdom: A Cornish Journey’, recounting his east-west walk across Britain’s westernmost region.
Entry to all events costs £5, with free entry for Heligan members.
Later in the year, from November until January 2026, visitors can also discover the Heligan Night Garden, an enchanting lantern experience set amidst the atmospheric Lost Gardens.
