Shuttleworth in Bedfordshire is a new CTA member for 2025 and is home to a working collection of aircraft and vehicles, plus almost 60 acres of estate to explore, including gardens and a Woodland Walk.
Cared for by engineers, Shuttleworth features a working collection of airworthy vintage aircraft, agricultural and steam exhibits, veteran vehicles, carriages, buses and bicycles. The site also boasts a workshop where visitors can watch engineers in action.
Shuttleworth is also home to the world’s oldest flying aeroplane, the 1909 Blériot XI. Still airworthy, this amazing aircraft regularly takes to the sky at the site’s air shows which take place throughout the spring and summer. Learn more here in this video with historian Dan Snow.
Shuttleworth also features a nine-acre Regency Garden, complete with two resident peacocks, plus a lakeside park, and a sculpture trail.
The Runway Café serves a menu of locally sourced food and drink, and groups of 15-plus, as well as the driver, receive a complimentary drink. Shuttleworth has a range of self-guided and guided tour options, as well as pre-booked catering as required, and free coach parking. Groups can make the most of discounts for general admission, which includes a 30-day return ticket as well as discounted entry for any of Shuttleworth’s seven air shows.
