Shuttleworth has added a Hawker Hurricane to its collection of historic aircraft, with the aircraft registration G-HURI flying in at the end of November.

Hawker Hurricane G-HURI was one of the first civilian Hurricanes flying in 1989, and Shuttleworth’s addition has been added from the Historic Aircraft Collection.

The airworthy Hurricane was part of the 2005 ‘Merlins Over Malta’ project that saw it fly with Spitfire VB BM597 over Malta in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII. G-HURI is also due to take part in the Polish Heritage Flight’s upcoming 2026 commemorative flight to Poland. The Hurricane is also planned to take part in Shuttleworth air shows next year.

Meanwhile, visitors can see G-HURI on display in Hangar 4 of the Shuttleworth Collection, named ‘Dangerous Skies’ for its celebration of iconic military aircraft.

The Bedfordshire house and gardens hosts an extensive display of historic aircraft and vehicles and also presents air shows throughout the year. On now until early December, there’s Shuttleworth in Lights, while 2026 will also see a wedding show, comedy nights, and murder mystery events.
