Please see below a joint statement from coach trade bodies:

Following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II yesterday we appreciate that coach operators up and down the country will start receiving enquires for coach hires to London.

The Coach Tourism Association (CTA), Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), Road Haulage Association (RHA) and the UK Coach Operators Association (UKCOA) are liaising with Transport for London to finalise the arrangements for coaches entering the capital and locations to set down and pick up passengers, and to park.

The capital will become a focal point for many who wish to pay their respects and a timetable for certain events will emerge over the course of the next few hours and days.

Some restrictions are already in force and coach bays in Victoria Embankment and Park Lane may well be required for other purposes during this period of mourning and leading to the state funeral. Other coach bays in the centre of London may also close at short notice.

It may well be necessary for coaches to set down their passengers short of central London, but at a location where it is easy for them to continue their journey by tube or rail.

We will keep trade body members updated though messages and on our website as information becomes clearer.
