DFDS has acquired the Stena Vinga ferry from Stena Line to operate between Jersey and UK and France, carrying both freight and passengers.

The vessel is currently on charter and has been part of DFDS’s Jersey fleet since the launch of the service in March 2025. The 125-meter-long ferry can carry up to 400 passengers and is equipped with 40 cabins, a restaurant, a duty-free shop, a cinema and a recliner lounge.

The purchase will be completed in November 2026, and the ferry will continue to operate on the Jersey-UK/France routes. Stena Vinga will be renamed to fit with DFDS’s existing fleet.

While vehicles travelling by ferry to Jersey are typically limited to 16 seats, DFDS carries a high volume of group and coach passengers travelling on foot, particularly on its High-Speed Craft services, which include the Levante Jet (pictured), operating from Poole, and Tarifa Jet, operating from St Malo. Coach group passengers can then transfer to a Jersey-based operator on arrival.

Following customer feedback, new catering vouchers are now available on these sailings, including a £7.50 breakfast option and £10 sandwich bag or snack menu, adding convenience and value for group passengers. This move is designed to enhance the onboard experience for group travellers, especially on early morning or late evening sailings.
