Wrexham’s leading attractions have combined in a new joint venture to showcase what the county borough can offer, in a campaign supported by Visit Wales.

A specially-design trail, suitable for coach groups as well as independent visitors, features eight diverse attractions around Wrexham that could comprise a coach trip and tour programme in the area.

Presented on the new website wrexhamattractions.co.uk, the trail is set to include Stori Brymbo, a major heritage and visitor attraction based in the former Brymbo steelworks near Wrexham, scheduled to open in June this year. Stori Brymbo is designed around a 300-million-year journey that links the prehistoric fossil forest, heavy industry, and the local community story.

The trail will also include the new Football Museum of Wales and Wrexham Museum, which featured in April’s CTA News.

The attractions, which draw together a diverse mix of heritage, culture, science and natural attractions, also include Wrexham Miners Project; Erddig Hall and Garden; Xplore! science museum; Chirk Castle and Gardens; St Giles Church and its impressive tower; and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct that spans the River Dee and still carries canal boats today.

Wrexham is also home to award-winning markets as well as the arts and community hub, Tŷ Pawb. Further information on the trail and visit planning information for the area is also available from Wrexham Visitor Information Centre.
