Following the Government’s briefing on new conditions for lockdown, Castle Howard re-opened its Garden Centre to the public this week. After a period of closure the Garden Centre reopens from Wednesday 13 May, Monday – Sunday, 10am -5pm.To protect staff and customers with social distancing measures the Garden Centre is cashless, and there will be limits on the numbers of people in the Garden Centre at any one time with a queuing system in place.
Although the Garden Centre & Farm Shop are now both open to the public, the House, Grounds and Adventure Playground will remain closed in accordance with Government advice.
Castle Howard is also teaming up with Sloemotion Gin to deliver a virtual gin experience on Friday 15 May. Online visitors can join Joff Curtoys from Sloemotion for a walk along the hedgerows at Green Farm, the home of their distillery. Following the tour, you will be able to take part in a live Q&A with Joff and tap into his knowledge about distilling gin in this beautiful corner of North Yorkshire.
