Dudley’s Black Country Living Museum, which recently became a CTA member, is inviting coach groups to experience 300 years of industrial and social history from the heart of the Midlands, tracing from the Industrial revolution to post-war prosperity.
Groups can experience over 26 acres complete with recreated and rebuilt shops, homes, and industrial workshops, brought to life through living interpretation. Visitors are invited to step inside the buildings where they can talk to the people of the area, from metalworkers and miners, to nurses and schoolteachers.
Attractions at the museum include an 1850s miner experience, through to a short film from the silent era in the 1920s cinema. Visitors can also see period transport, including classic cars, vans, and motorcycles, and even ride on a vintage bus. The latest addition at the museum, a 1940s-1960s high street with an infant welfare centre, is open for business and shares popular culture of the time.
Food and drink from the era is also available, including fish and chips, traditional sweets, as well as beer and drinks from the museum’s two pubs.
