Essex offers a 350-mile coastline, and coach groups can discover seaside towns such as Southend-on-Sea, home to the longest pier in the world, Frinton-on-Sea, and Mersea Island, where visitors can enjoy native Mersea Oysters.
History and heritage lovers can take a trip to Britain’s oldest recorded city, Colchester, which is full of rich Roman heritage with sights such as Colchester Castle Museum and Layer Marney Tower. Essex is also home to beautiful market towns, including the streets of Saffron Walden, lined with colourful houses and historic buildings, as well as the independent shops and eateries in Maldon.
Themed events in Essex include a Topsail Charters cruise along Heybridge Basin, or a steam train ride at Epping Ongar Railway.
