New guided group tour of Rothschild Walled Garden at Eythrope
A new 2019 feature for coach groups visiting Waddesdon Estate is a guided tour of the private Rothschild walled garden at Eythrope. The four-acre garden, including glasshouses and an orchard, supplies vegetables, fruit, herbs and cut flowers for the Rothschild family as well as Waddesdon’s restaurants, hotel and artisan food market. A working garden on this scale is rare and Eythrope is renowned for the excellence of the gardening and as a haven for traditional techniques that might otherwise be lost.
Visits to the private garden are by guided tour only which last approximately 90 minutes each Wednesday, 10.30am-2pm and 1.30-5pm, from May to October and include a two-course lunch menu or afternoon tea in Waddesdon Manor’s Restaurant, inspired by and where possible including produce from Eythrope’s walled garden.
