Vent d’Opale is a new sightseeing boat, operated by Nausicaá National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer, taking groups to discover the coastline and maritime heritage of Northern France.

Two guided tours are currently available, both led by Nausicaá’s expert guides. The one-hour harbour tour explores Boulogne-sur-Mer and its port, France’s leading fishing port, located just 23 miles from Calais. Groups will discover its history, economic activity, and biodiversity, and gain an insight into the close relationship between the sea and the people who live and work alongside it.

In addition, a 90-minute coastal tour heads further out along the Opal Coast, the 75-mile stretch noted for its changing colours that has inspired artists for over 100 years. During the cruise, a guide will reveal the geological origins of the dramatic cliffs and introduce passengers to the marine life found along this remarkable stretch of coastline.

With capacity for up to 150 passengers, Vent d’Opale offers an enjoyable and accessible group experience that can be included in a wider Opal Coast itinerary. The vessel operates from April to September, and private group events can be organised on request.
