Shakespeare’s Globe has sent the following message to CTA members: “We hope you understand it has been difficult for us to decide how to navigate our way forwards during this unprecedented time. It has been overwhelming to see all your messages of support, and everyone here at the Globe is truly grateful to see all the love for our wooden O.
“Following the UK Government’s official guidance, Shakespeare’s Globe is now closed to the public until further notice, ceasing performances, education activities and tours. As you can imagine, this has been one of the hardest decisions we have had to make, but a necessary one as we consider the safety and well-being of the public, staff and volunteers.
“Whilst our doors are closed, our hearts, minds and imaginations are very much open, and we are finding and creating ways in which to stay connected and hopeful with you.
“We hope to open the doors to our wooden O as soon as possible and will be in touch with more information on this as soon as we are able.”
