The Severn Valley Railway that runs between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire has fully reopened after a landslip closed part of the track earlier in the year.

Thanks to an ambitious joint volunteering effort by companies across the rail sector, the railway has re-laid the track across its newly repaired Mor Brook bridge near Erdington, Bridgnorth, in Shropshire. The repair was achieved ahead of schedule and at zero cost to the railway thanks to the voluntary contribution.

Making a special visit, the Flying Scotsman hauled the first public service this season to reunite the whole line on Friday 25 July, after the closure following the Mor Brook landslip in January.

Since the landslip, the line has operated between Kidderminster and Erdington, with trains unable to reach the final section to Bridgnorth.

The Severn Valley Railway provides a 20% groups discount. Next events include the Autumn Steam Gala, between Thursday 18 and Sunday 21 September. The Christmas period also hosts a series of themed events, including illuminated trains as well as Carol Trains with singing onboard during the journey.
