There is plenty to look forward to this autumn and winter in Exeter for groups, including exploring the Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market as part of a Festive Showcase with the English Riviera. And the new Hotel Indigo is set to open in Exeter this month.

Exeter is a great destination for a day trip or longer visit. Whether your group is interested in shopping, heritage and culture, the outdoors, or local food and drink, Exeter has it all. It is a compact city and easy to navigate on foot, or visitors can join a Discover Exeter sightseeing bus tour, and hop on and off at all the main sights. Visit Exeter has created an Unmissable Exeter itinerary, showcasing the city’s top five must-see places to visit, even if time in Exeter is limited.

Opening in late November in the heart of the city centre, Hotel Indigo Exeter  has been lovingly restored and converted from its department store origins. The hotel was once the home of Colson’s, a department store that opened in 1792 by local milliner, Mrs Colson, who became one of the city’s most loved characters. Staying true to its roots, the hotel takes its design inspiration from the building’s department store past and other notable neighbourhood sites as each of the 104 rooms are styled to honour elements of the city.

A new Christmas in Exeter landing page is available on Visit Exeter’s website as a one-stop-shop for all things festive this year in and around the city.
