Salisbury Cathedral’s upcoming events programme includes Afternoon Carols in December, and next Spring the historic site offers a Flower Festival.
On Tuesday 10 December at 2pm, groups are invited to Afternoon Carols. Along with Salisbury Cathedral Choir, groups can join in with carol favourites. The afternoon also includes Christmas readings as well as mulled wine and mince pies in the beautiful setting of the Cathedral.
Seasonal refreshments will be served in the Cathedral after the concert, and the building will be exclusively available to attendees until the evening service starts. Visitors can also follow the Christmas Star trail, from Cathedral Close to the city centre, and take in the Christmas lights.
Group carol tickets also allow entry to The Cathedral and Chapter House (Magna Carta) for a sightseeing visit prior to the concert on the day.
Tickets for Group Carols start from £19. Contact Kate Saykouk on groups@salcath.co.uk or phone 01722 555120, and you can find out more here.
Next year, from 12 May to 18 May, the cathedral will also host its Flower Festival, featuring floral arrangements made from more than thirty thousand blooms to adorn the Cathedral’s interior.
The festival, titled The Spirit of Water, is a companion piece to the Cathedral’s summer art exhibition, Living Water. Just as the art show explores the power of water, the Flower Festival takes its inspiration from water in all its different forms.
Tickets are now available to pre-book and the group rate is £15.00pp. Final confirmation and pre-payment are requested at least two weeks in advance. For groups of 10+ please email groups@salcath.co.uk Find out more about the Flower Festival here.
