The Royal Collection has announced that bookings for 2021 are now open. Groups can book to visit a blockbuster exhibition at The Queen’s Gallery in London, featuring paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Titian, or to see watercolour scenes from Queen Victoria’s and Prince Albert’s life at The Queen’s Gallery in Edinburgh.
At Windsor Castle, until 4 January 2021, groups can explore the Christmas display in the State Apartments as part of a visit to the Castle. The centrepiece of the display will be the 20-foot-high Nordmann Fir tree dressed with hundreds of iridescent and mirrored ornaments in St George’s Hall.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse will be adorned with glittering decorations to celebrate the festive season. The decorations will include a 15-foot high Christmas tree in the Great Gallery, while the Great Stair will be draped with velvet garlands, berries and seasonal foliage. And groups can enjoy the new Physic Garden for free or as part of a visit to the Palace. The garden consists of three areas, each representing a phase in the Palace’s 900-year history, including a flowering meadow of medicinal plants.
Until 31 January 2022, some of the most important paintings in the Royal Collection are moving to The Queen’s Gallery in London. Rembrandt, Vermeer and Titian are just a few of the artists whose paintings you can enjoy all year.
