Stage set designs by Paul McCartney are going on display at the Liverpool Beatles Museum. The designs were commissioned by Beatles manager Brian Epstein as potential backdrops to a concert by The Four Tops at The Saville Theatre.

The Liverpool Beatles Museum is revealing the designs on Thursday 27 May before opening viewing to the public, including groups.

Following the success of their number one single ‘Reach Out I’ll Be There’, The Four Tops were performing in their only UK performance of 1966. McCartney created 12 designs, one of which was chosen by Epstein as the backdrop to the performance by the Tamla Motown group.
