Visit Wales have updated us on new restrictions in Wales which came into force on 4 December.
A list of FAQs can be found here
In summary, in relation to travel and visiting, the following applies:
- Travel into Wales from tier three areas in England, level three and four areas in Scotland and from Northern Ireland is not allowed at present, without a reasonable excuse, for example travelling for work purposes. Visiting family and friends (other than as part of an extended household) or having a holiday is not currently considered a reasonable excuse, although Wales hopes to be able to welcome you in the not too distant future.
- Visitors from other parts of the UK are not prohibited in law from entering Wales -people living in tier two areas in England or areas in Scotland in level two are advised not travel to Wales because of the wider risk of catching and spreading the virus to areas of lower risk.
- Restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs are required to close at 6pm and alcohol cannot be served at any time.
- Entertainment venues and indoor tourist attractions are required to close.
- Between Wednesday 23 December and Sunday 27 December, there will be some temporary relaxations allowing people from three households to form an exclusive Christmas bubble and travel anywhere within the UK.
