The British Tourism & Travel Show returns to the NEC Birmingham in just two weeks’ time (22-23 September, NEC, Birmingham). So, what can you expect from the coach tourism industry showcase?

The free to attend programme offers two days of inspiration and practical advice. Leading authorities including CTA, VisitEngland, The Tourism Alliance, AGTO, and the CPT will bring you up to speed on the latest developments across the coach tourism sector.

We will be delighted to meet up with everyone at a special CTA Members’ Reception at BTTS on Wed 22 Sept at 15.00hrs. The event will take place in the main hall, and do also drop in at the CTA stand (G) to say hello.

Says event manager Lloyd Jones: “BTTS is well timed for operators looking to emerge from this challenging period equipped with the tools and ideas to drive business recovery. In addition to providing valuable networking opportunities after 18 months apart, and inspiration for tours and excursions from 250 exhibiting organisations, this year’s keynote programme will deliver actionable takeaways.”

Among the presenters is CTA chair Robert Shaw, who will join a panel of coach operators to discuss what lessons can be learned from managing a coach operation through challenging times, and how to adapt, flexibly respond, and develop a business for success. Vicky Parr, business support manager, VisitEngland will provide insights on the tourism industry’s recovery and support resources available from the national tourist board to help drive business growth, and Mark Purchase, operations manager, CPT, will advise about post-Brexit coach operations into Europe following the new UK-EU Trade Agreement. Learn how to stay compliant, how to make the most of opportunities, and how to avoid pitfalls.

Holidaying behaviour has changed significantly – but will these new trends be here for the long haul? Tourism Alliance director Kurt Janson will advise about changes in consumer behaviour, and how to respond moving forwards. And to recover fully, the industry needs to consider more than summer and its usual domestic hotspots. Digital Visitor’s CEO Anthony Rawlins will discuss how to secure off-peak bookings, strategies for long-term growth, and how to maintain domestic audiences once international travel returns.

AGTO CEO Wendy Hartley-Scarff will focus on the latest group travel innovations, and how the industry has adapted to the COVID crisis – or not, as the case may be.

Due to Covid safety measures, registering in advance is essential.
