The Heights of Abraham has been awarded its sixth prestigious VisitEngland Gold Accolade for outstanding experience and quality amongst visitor attractions in England. In order to win a Gold Accolade, The Heights had to demonstrate excellence across a range of areas including visitor welcome, presentation of the attraction, cleanliness, guest experience, catering and retail, staff efficiency, knowledge and customer care.

Judging took place earlier this year and included a secret visit from Visit England’s Assessor who spent five hours on the 60-acre estate and wrote within his report: “There is far more to the attraction than might initially be perceived. The cable cars stand out from afar, however, this is just one aspect of the experience, once visitors reach the top, they are likely to be pleasantly surprised by the range of things available – museums, shops, caverns, play areas and stunning views. I can understand why visitors continue to return”.

Rupert Pugh, development director at the Heights, adds: “To come through the covid pandemic and secure this Gold Accolade award is wonderful news for everyone who works at the Heights of Abraham. This year we’ve added more attractions and features than ever before, and made sure that our guests receive a truly warm welcome. The judging criteria is tough, particularly to secure Gold status, so we’re especially delighted with the result”.
