Salisbury Cathedral is pleased to still be welcoming groups within the ‘rule of six’, having cautiously added to its capacity to keep pace with demand. A one-way system and social distancing is working well and there has never been a better time to see the cathedral. The chairs have been removed from the Nave and the views are magnificent.

Guiding is not permitted and groups should book in advance. Some groups are turning up unannounced, which is tough on staff and other visitors, particularly given the Coronavirus level alert in the UK and the current regulations. Unbooked groups also run the risk of disappointment as it can’t guarantee that there will be enough spaces.

Groups should comply with the ‘rule of six’ legislation by ensuring visitors are broken down into household/support bubbles on arrival. This makes it easier to process your visitors quickly and easily, as well as avoiding a crowd building up at the visitor entrance.

Visitors should wear face coverings unless they are exempt, and to social distance from anyone not in their own household/support bubble. The cathedrals says that everyone has been amazingly co-operative to-date.
