St. Mary’s Guildhall, Coventry, is presenting a special Guildhall Ghost Stories Tour event this autumn. On October 21 and 22, the historic location is inviting groups to embark on a captivating journey to hear tales of paranormal phenomena and captivating folklore within the atmospheric building.
Walking in the footsteps of historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, and Frederick Douglass, an enslaved person who became an antislavery lecturer, the guided ghost stories tour will immerse visitors in centuries of enthralling history that unfolded in Coventry.
This event is currently open for group bookings of 10-plus, at £12 per person. The experience is estimated to take around one hour with additional free time to explore the building.
St Mary’s Guildhall is located in the city’s historic Cathedral Quarter. Escaping bombing raids during the Second World War, the guildhall is one of the city’s only remaining medieval buildings.
This summer and autumn, groups can also Embark on a Journey Through Time: A Tale of Two Tapestries Tour at St Mary’s Guildhall Coventry and Coventry Cathedral. Taking place on July 8, September 16, and October 7, at £12 per person (or including cream tea for £22 per person), this is a unique opportunity to discover the rich history of two extraordinary tapestries – the largest tapestry in Europe located in Coventry Cathedral, and the famous 500 year old Coventry tapestry, still in its original place after 500 years. Our expert guides will share the enchanting stories woven into the fabric of these two extraordinary tapestries, each with its own tale to tell.
