Encore has provided an update for CTA members on the latest news from West End shows, including Cinderella The Musical, The Drifters Girl and Back to the Future: The Musical.

The much-anticipated world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella has begun performances at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. A new romantic musical comedy featuring an original story and book by 2021 Oscar winner Emerald Fennell and lyrics by Tony & Olivier award winner David Zippel, the show is placed in Bellville, a fairy tale come to life where you can’t move without falling over a wishing well or a quivering milkmaid.

Coming to the West End in the autumn, The Drifters Girl tells the remarkable story of one of the world’s greatest vocal groups, and the truth about the woman who made them. It features the queen of British Soul Beverley Knight as Faye Treadwell.

Meanwhile, Back to the Future: The Musical aims to rewrite theatre history when it opens in London this summer.
