Alnwick Castle in Northumberland is providing coach group offers, including tours of the castle and grounds with bespoke packages available.

The site, situated less than a mile off the A1 between Newcastle and Edinburgh, is one of the largest inhabited castles in England and has been home to the Duke of Northumberland’s family, the Percys, for over 700 years. Alnwick’s Italianate State Rooms boast one of the finest private art collections in the country, including paintings by Canaletto and works by Titian, Van Dyck, Turner, and Dobson.

With its medieval architecture, the castle also featured as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films, among a host of other TV and film productions. On a visit to Alnwick Castle, this historic backdrop is brought to life by the attraction’s resident knights, ladies and artisans, and entertaining performers.

A range of bookable tours and activities are available where groups can explore the State Rooms with a guide as they explain the stories behind the Percy family’s history, and uncover details behind the remarkable items on display. A cinematic themed tour in the grounds, learning about Alnwick’s famous screen appearances, is also available. Bespoke tours for specific interests can also be arranged on request, and foreign language guides can be provided.

Alnwick Castle can supply a range of refreshment packages for groups to pre-order, as well as food and drink vouchers to give flexibility to your group members.

Coach groups of 14 people or more receive discounted admission, as well as free admission for the driver and group leader, plus free coach parking and easy drop off, and a refreshment voucher for the driver. Free mobility scooter and wheelchair hire are also available.

The castle is open daily each year between April and October. Grounds and museums are open between 10am – 5pm (last entry 3.45pm), and the State Rooms are open 10.30am – 4.30pm (with last entry 4pm).
