There are still some tickets left for the Christmas Concert on 20 December at Westminster Abbey.
Drawing inspiration from the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols, the Choir of Westminster Abbey presents its annual Christmas Concert featuring a selection of much-loved festive choral works interspersed with seasonal readings telling the story of the Nativity and traditional carols for all to sing.
Westminster Abbey is one of the world’s greatest churches, with a history stretching back over a thousand years. It is in the heart of London, next to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and is an essential part of any trip to the capital.
The Abbey has been the Coronation church since 1066, and the setting for many other great events in the life of the nation, including sixteen royal weddings. It is the burial place of kings and queens, and of other distinguished figures in the nation’s history, from writers and musicians to politicians and scientists.
Groups of up to 20 visitors are welcome, when accompanied by a Blue Badge Tourist Guide.
The Cellarium Café and Terrace, set in part of the 14th century fabric of the Abbey, is open throughout the year. Continuing the Benedictine tradition of providing hospitality, the Cellarium offers breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
The Abbey’s green spaces are peaceful places to relax. College Garden is reputed to be the oldest garden in England, dating back over 900 years. It was originally used to grow food and medicinal herbs for the residents of the Abbey.
