The requirement to self-isolate when quarantining from an Amber list country is going to be removed on 19 July for fully vaccinated people returning to England. It is also worth noting that the requirement for non-vaccinated people to self-isolate is being removed for those under the age of 18 to enable families to take holidays together. Those fully vaccinated will still be required to complete a pre-departure test before arrival into England, alongside a PCR test on or before day 2 after arrival back in England. Children aged 4 and under will continue to be exempt from any travel testing, while those aged 5 to 10 will only need to do a day 2 PCR and those aged 11 to 18 year will need to take both a pre-departure test and a day 2 PCR
In addition, information has been added to the guidance for people on how to comply with quarantine rules after international travel on how contact tracers from NHS Test and Trace will contact people to check that they are following quarantine rules.
