The British Bird of Prey Centre is moving to a new home in Idole, near Carmarthen, with the opening scheduled for October this year.

The centre says the new location will allow visitors to get closer to native birds, providing education and experiences through conservation-focused encounters. Building on the success of its current location at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the new site at Idole is designed to welcome even more visitors.

The all-weather attraction will feature an indoor flying arena, an interactive activity centre, a café offering homemade and locally sourced produce, and a play area. The new space is situated in a convenient location just four miles from Carmarthen town centre.

The only bird of prey centre that focusses on native species, the attraction hosts golden eagles, red kites and peregrine falcons, with flying displays taking place each day.

Coach groups are welcomed to The British Bird of Prey Centre with no limit to group size. Initially, the site will have coach parking for two coaches, and drop off/collection is available. The group rate is £10 per person, including all flying displays, which can be booked to accommodate the group’s schedule. Free entry is also provided for the group leader, and drivers receive a free meal. The site is fully accessible and it makes an ideal stop-off on visits to destinations such as Tenby, or in combination with a visit to Carmarthen.

Groups should contact kath@britishbirdofpreycentre.co.uk for booking, or for more information visit here.
