The CTA is saddened to hear the passing of Andrew Simpson, the founder of wholesaler Classic Britain and long-time CTA member.

Classic Britain says: “Andrew was more than the person who started our company — he was the driving force behind its vision, values, and culture. Over nearly 30 years, he built a business grounded in integrity, hard work, and a genuine commitment to the people it serves.”

Andrew founded the company in 1996 with the aim of bringing together independently owned hotels and creating meaningful partnerships that would benefit both customers and hoteliers. In recognition of his contribution to the industry, Andrew was named Coach Tourism Professional of the Year in 2019, shortly before his retirement — an honour that reflected the respect he earned throughout his career.

Andrew’s funeral took place on 11 of May at South Lanarkshire Crematorium, followed by refreshments and the sharing of stories at the Strathaven Hotel.
