A Very Austen Christmas at the Royal Pavilion Brighton will celebrate 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen as the historic building is decked out in Regency splendour.

Between 22 November to 4 January, the event transforms the Royal Pavilion for a Regency-style celebration with an Austen-inspired set. Characters from Austin’s novels will come to life as visitors get involved with interactive displays including trying on Regency finery.

Throughout the season, guests can also enjoy a special Austen Christmas Cream Tea, while literary enthusiasts will relish an ‘In Conversation’ event with Regency experts.

The celebration is for visitors of all ages, and Father Christmas will also be in residence with magical storytelling, while the grandeur of Christmas Banquets will bring dining in the spirit of George IV to life.

Meanwhile, the Music Room presents the voices of local choirs singing carols, and children will be enchanted by Austen’s stories in an age-appropriate style.
