The National Trust is launching a long-term programme to make it easier for coach operators to plan and book visits to its properties across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Travel trade consultants Karin Gidlund and Karen Jacques have been engaged to deliver the programme, which will support participating properties to improve booking processes, provide clearer information, and develop stronger relationships with coach tourism businesses.
The initiative is intended to benefit domestic coach and group operators, as well as international travel trade businesses bringing groups to National Trust properties.
The programme will be rolled out gradually, beginning with properties that have the capacity and operational readiness to welcome more visitors, with more National trust locations joining the programme as they become ready.
Booking processes at participating properties will be standardised, helping to provide a clearer and more consistent experience for operators. Properties are also being supported to develop suitable products and experiences, including providing the practical information operators need when planning and booking visits, including pricing and booking processes.
Karin Gidlund and Karen Jacques will engage with travel trade representatives and group organisers during autumn and winter 2026-2027, and plan to attend industry events including CTA Winter Networking and the CTA Annual Workshop.
The programme forms part of a wider focus on growing group and travel trade visits. Income generated through these bookings will help fund the National Trust’s conservation work, supporting the protection of historic places and green spaces.
