CTA-member coach tour operator Bakers Dolphin has supported its home-town’s campaign for automated external defibrillators (AEDs) by providing discounted travel for the project’s visit to parliament.
The Weston-super-Mare operator is supporting the town’s Donate for Defib project, which travelled to Westminster to meet local MP Daniel Albridge to discuss the importance of publicly accessible AEDs in the town and the surrounding areas.
Fellow local business, Elms Funeral Directors, also supported the cost of the parliament visit. Following the meeting, the team at Donate for Defib W-s-M are optimistic about new opportunities.
“Our trip to Parliament and meeting with Daniel Albridge was crucial for furthering our mission and we’re incredibly grateful for the support of Bakers Dolphin and Elms Funeral Directors for providing us with transport,” says Josh Bell, project lead at Donate for Defib W-s-M and former student paramedic.
“It was an unforgettable journey, and it wouldn’t have been possible without them or our incredible coach driver, Ryan, who went above and beyond, showing care, kindness, and genuine interest in our life-saving defibrillator project. He’s a true credit to Bakers Dolphin and we can’t thank them enough for their continued commitment to the community.”
Amanda Harrington, sales and marketing director at Bakers Dolphin, said: “We were pleased to support Donate for Defib W-s-M’s recent visit to Parliament. Having been established in Weston-super-Mare and the South West for 130 years, we recognise the importance of supporting local initiatives like this one. With the extensive fleet of coaches we have available for hire, we are uniquely positioned to support causes like Donate for Defib and give back to the community.”
