St Mary’s Guildhall in Coventry is inviting CTA members to a special fam trip, including a guided tour, taking place on Tuesday 27 February between 11am and 1pm.
St Mary’s Guildhall acted as the centre of power in England during the War of the Roses, housed the crown jewels, was the prison of Mary, Queen of Scots, and hosted famous literary figures, such as George Eliot.
The guildhall is open again after a two year, £6million restoration and the fam trip will show CTA members its features such as the medieval kitchen, one of the best preserved in the country, uncovered for the first time in 100 years. In the stunning Great Hall, the famous Coventry Tapestry still hangs in its original spot after 500 years, and visitors can follow the threads of the medieval wool trade which made Coventry an important centre of commerce and power.
The Fam itinerary includes arrival, meet and greet by team at 11am, followed by a private guided tour, then a cream tea, concluding at 1pm.
