The government is calling for evidence on its planned reforms of the 2018 Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations. Relevant parties, including operators, should respond by 13 December.

The government says the objectives of the regulation reform are to give consumers appropriate protections when buying package holidays, as well as supporting the travel sector to grow and to innovate by ensuring that regulation is clear and intelligently designed.

The purpose of the call for evidence is to gain insights into how the Regulations are working and to seek views on options to simplify and rationalise some aspects.

Operators can submit evidence at this Department for Business and Trade online form. Information about the legislation and the call for evidence can be found here. A briefing on the issue, issued by the Tourism Alliance, can be found here.
