Pre-event visit to Park Head Hotel, Auckland Project

Saturday 27 January

15.00 onwards – guests arrive at Park Head Hotel and settle into their rooms
18.30 – groups ‘showcase’ in the Laurel Room (TAP, Kynren and Visit County Durham)
19.30 – dinner in the Oak Room Restaurant

Sunday 28 January

09.00 – guests depart Park Head Hotel
09.30 – guests meet Catherine Hodgson and Clint Green outside Auckland Tower
09.30 – 10.30 – tour of Auckland Castle and Faith Museum
10.45 – guests depart for Newcastle

Travel to Park Head by train:

Newcastle to Darlington, then Darlington to Bishop Auckland.

Parking for Park Head hotel visitors:

Parking is complimentary for all hotel guests and visitors, and there are designated disabled parking spaces available onsite, as well as four electric vehicle charging points available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is EV charging available at Park Head hotel – if you require this, you will need to download the Mer Connect UK app

For the Sunday 28 Jan  9am visit to Auckland castle, there are a small number of parking spaces in the Market Place but most of them are short-stay/Blue Badge parking and they are usually occupied. Unfortunately there is no parking adjacent to Auckland Tower.

There is free parking in North Bondgate car park, however, which is approximately a 2-3 minute walk from Auckland Tower. North Bondgate Car Park, North Bondgate, Bishop Auckland DL14 7PG – approx five minutes drive from hotel.
