Oxford Castle & Prison, which provides guided visits of the city’s iconic building, is also presenting Murder Mystery evenings and is welcoming groups to participate.

The Murder Mystery is set around the Castle & Prison historic site, involving the atmospheric Norman crypt, Victorian D-wing cells, and eighteenth-century Debtor’s Tower. Costumed actors engage with the group, providing clues and some ‘red herrings’ to create an authentic, historic experience.

The evenings last two hours, usually from 7-9pm, with a short midway break for refreshments. Depending on the group size, the attraction can split into two ‘competing’ teams to add an extra element to the evening. Groups of between 15 and 50 people are welcomed, and the experience can be tailored to accommodate all aspects of mobility and interest.

The official coach drop-off is on Beaumont St in central Oxford. Operators can also obtain a parking permit to drop-off on New Road just outside Castleyard area.
