As it approaches its centenary year in 2025, Edwards Coaches is due to take delivery of ten Van Hool Altano vehicles in June 2024 for use on the National Express network. The new high capacity vehicles represent a significant investment of around £4.8million in fleet renewal. Edwards has also committed to purchasing 68 tri-axle Caetano Levante 3As, costing around £25.7million, to replace older National Express vehicles, the first of which arrived in December 2023 and are in use at its Swansea and Llantrisant depots in South Wales. The remaining vehicles will arrive throughout the course of 2024.

These coach orders are in addition to a recent investment in the Edwards Holidays fleet of executive coaches, with four new, tour specification Mercedes Benz Tourismos, including an executive class Red Dragon coach. And Edwards is also awaiting delivery on two more, tour specification Tourismos and an additional two new Neoplan Tourliners.

The total investment in 86 new vehicles is in excess of £32million.

Mike Edwards, Edwards Coaches’ proprietor and chairman, says: “We remain committed to delivering superior travel experiences, combining our heritage and our vast industry experience with innovation. We are investing heavily in new vehicles across our South Wales and Bristol Depots.

“We are proud to be serving our communities as we reach our 100-year anniversary of the start of Edwards Coaches.”
