Hillsborough Castle Fam

The CTA Conference & Workshop 2023 officially kicks off with a fabulous Fam trip to Hillsborough Castle, courtesy of CTA member Historic Royal Palaces.

The Fam trip will depart by coach from the Europa Hotel at 12.30pm on Sunday 5 February. If you wish to take part in the Fam – and we encourage all delegates to do so as it is a terrific networking opportunity – please arrive in good time on Sunday morning, or consider booking a pre-night on Saturday.

Our visit is in low season and the Castle is opening just for CTA members. There will be guided tours in groups of 25 people and there will be a light lunch served at Hillsborough Castle on arrival. 

Hillsborough Castle has been a grand family home and is now the official home of the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and a royal residence. Members of the Royal Family stay at Hillsborough when visiting Northern Ireland.

Viewed by some as a politically neutral venue, Hillsborough has played an important role in the Peace Process in Northern Ireland since the 1980s.

In 2014, Historic Royal Palaces took over the running of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens and began an ambitious project to restore the house and gardens to its former glory.
