Historic Royal Palaces has an array of incredible events and exhibitions this year across its sites. At the Tower of London, the Crown Jewels will be an integral part of the historic coronation of King Charles III. The Tower will continue to showcase these awe-inspiring objects and explore their stories in a permanent exhibition.  And from May to September each year, visitors to the Tower of London will once again be invited to discover the historic moat as it blooms back into life. Walk amongst nature and experience the Tower from a fresh perspective.

The Tulip Festival at Hampton Court Palace is also set to put a spring in the step of group visitors, and from 4 March to 8 May, visitors to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens will be surrounded by daffodils, tulips and crocuses as Spring Spectacular launches at the castle. The event will also include various garden talks, tours and workshops.

At Hampton Court Palace from 2 to 6 August, a Tudor Joust will be returning where visitors can experience the pomp, ceremony and splendour that reigned supreme through Henry VIII’s jousting tournaments. The popular joust will see knights battling for the right to be hailed champion, while spectators can cheer, jeer and follow all the fun of this epic face-off.

And Hampton Court also hosts its annual Food Festival and Festive Fayre from 26-28 August and 1-3 December 2023 respectively when the palace courtyards and gardens will be filled with the smells of wine and pies and adorned with stalls selling a range of beautiful gifts. Groups will be able to explore the stately apartments of the Tudor and Baroque palaces before relaxing in the formal gardens and enjoying the delights of our many food vendors and pop-up bars.

And a blockbuster exhibition, Crown to Couture, is being hosted at Kensington Palace, offering an immersive journey to explore 200+ objects on display, from Lady Gaga’s luminous green MTV Awards dress to the world-famous Silver Tissue Gown worn at the court of Charles II. The exhibition will compare the fashions of the Georgian era with modern, red-carpet design, from the preparation and styling required for attendance at one of the hottest events in town, to the grand arrivals.
