Shakespeare Distillery and Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall have launched an exclusive, limited time offer for your groups, ‘A Day out in Stratford-upon-Avon’.

The group visit needs to be booked and paid for by 31 October 2021 and features the following itinerary:

11am: Visit to SHAKESPEARE DISTILLERY

• Entertaining, informative and amusing talk on the history of gin whilst enjoying your morning tea or coffee (not included)

• Tour of our state-of-the-art distillery where you will see the Gin and Rum stills, our new Rum fermenter and the bottling hall under the expert guidance of our Master Distiller

• Visit the Gin School where you will enjoy a tutored tasting of at least 3 of our artisan spirits and round out the experience with either a Gin & Tonic or a Rum and mixer of your choice

• Time to explore our Distillery shop where you will be offered a 10% discount on any purchases

12:30pm:  10 minute drive into the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon where your group can enjoy free time to have lunch, explore the pretty walks along the Avon, see the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare’s Birthplace and shop in town.  Note to drivers:  The route into Stratford can take you past Anne Hathaway’s Cottage where you can stop for a photo opportunity, the Distillery staff will give you directions.

2:30 pm: Visit to SHAKESPEARE’S SCHOOLROOM & GUILDHALL

• Tour the 600-year-old Guildhall with its fascinating history of the medieval guild

• Turn detective and uncover the mystery of the wall paintings

• Visit the very Schoolroom where young William Shakespeare was inspired to become the world’s greatest playwright and where he wrote his earliest sonnet

• Enjoy a fun, and sometimes hilarious, lesson with Magister Thomas Jenkins, Shakespeare’s last Schoolmaster.  Will you be rewarded with an apple or will you get the birch?

Adults: £22 per person; Seniors: £20 per person. Driver and guide are complimentary. Minimum group size 15.

The tour can be reversed with a morning visit to Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall followed by a 3pm visit to Shakespeare Distillery. And if you wish for more free time in Stratford, the tour of Shakespeare’s Schoolroom can be later in the afternoon.

Meanwhile Shakespeare Distillery has also teamed up with Avon Boating to offer Gin Tasting Cruises on the Avon where groups enjoy a short talk on gin, a tasting of three spirits followed by a glass of Stratford Gin & Tonic, all whilst on a 60-minute cruise to see the riverside sights including the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church where William Shakespeare is buried. Cruises will restart this summer and can be booked for groups of up to 40 at any time during the season.

Shakespeare Distillery offers great group rates along with complimentary places for the coach driver, tour manager or guide. There is free coach parking, and the building is accessible throughout.
