Strathmore Hotels has now committed itself further to transferring away from fossil fuels (gas mains and oil) as its main source of heat energy with consent being granted for a Biomass installation at the 100+ bedroom Ben Wyvis Hotel in Strathpeffer. The Ben Wyvis Hotel joins the other seven hotels in the group which have already successfully transferred.
Biomass can be sourced within the UK and also provide local business opportunities and support the rural economy. The use of biomass fuel also provides an economic incentive to manage woodland which improves biodiversity.
Strathmore Hotels is committed to Green Tourism and aims to improve sustainability while maintaining warm buildings for the benefit of guests. The work is due to begin immediately with installation fully operational by spring 2023.
