DFDS is celebrating three decades of its Newcastle-Amsterdam route. First launched in 1995, the service carries over 600,000 passengers every year.

In 2024, DFDS invested €10million in the upgrade of cabins, plus an additional €2.8million enhancing public areas including restaurants, bars, and on-board shopping.

The ferry operator is also currently working on the design and configuration of two new-build vessels, planned for introduction by 2029/2030. DFDS says the ships will bring state-of-the-art amenities and improved capacity.

Providing daily crossings on the route, coaches travel free with 20 or more booked passengers. Drivers also enjoy a free sole-occupancy en-suite cabin, plus a free evening meal and breakfast.
