CTA has been very active with media interviews and online events since the beginning of 2021. CTA chair Robert Shaw has presented at online events run by CPT and VisitEngland and conducted a round of media interviews including a BBC local radio marathon last week.

CPT’s Bus and Coach Conference 2021 included a key session on Coach Tourism featuring Robert Shaw alongside CTA members Jason Edwards, Edwards Coaches and Kevin Mayne, Maynes Coaches. And the VisitEngland webinar, which attracted more than 400 attendees from across the domestic tourism sector, included presentations from Robert Shaw and fellow CTA members Paul Cartwright, A&P Travel; John Johnson, Johnsons Coaches; and Lucy Osborne, Leger/Shearings.

Here is a link to the recording of the VisitEngland webinar  Anybody wishing to view it needs to register so VE can continue to monitor uptake and feedback in the future.

CTA also provided input to a great feature article that appeared in the Daily Mail and on their website featuring coach holidays. The headline writer may not have known the difference between a coach and a bus, but the feature by Tom Chesshyre was very good promotion for coach tours and included a key quote from CTA chair Robert Shaw.

And in response to media reports on a spike in bookings for coach holidays later in 2021, the BBC asked CTA to talk to local radio stations around the country. Robert Shaw was happy to take up the challenge and had back-to-back interviews with radio presenters from Southampton to Cumbria and many points in between.
